NB JUNIOR TEAM SELECTED

Louis Melanson Golf Academy's Jean Mainville of the Fox Creek Golf Club in Dieppe and Tom Keddy of the Burro Hills Golf Club in Hillsborough have been selected to New Brunswick's junior men's golf team.
Mainville, Keddy and Alain Plourde of Edmundston Fraser qualified for the provincial team after four rounds of play, which wrapped up yesterday at the Country Meadows Golf Club near Moncton.
They will join Nick Clark of the Moncton Golf and Country Club, who qualified by winning the provincial title Thursday at Country Meadows.
Plourde shot 71 yesterday and finished four days of qualifying with a 5 over par total of 293.
Mainville carded a 72 yesterday for a 297 total while Keddy recorded a 71 for a 298 total.
New Brunswick will send five more players, as per its quota, to the Canadian junior boys championship Aug. 7-10 at the Sussex Golf and Country Club.
The other qualifiers are: Matt Layden of Petitcodiac, Eric Michaud of Fox Creek, Stephane Boudreau of Fox Creek, Chris Hopper of Country Meadows and Corey Bourque of Westfield.
Of the 5 qualifiers, with the exception of Bourque, all players are students of the Louis Melanson Golf Academy High Performance Program.
The province may send another player to the national tournament if a New Brunswicker can win the Future Links Atlantic Championships July 24-27 at the Mill River Golf Course in Woodstock, P.E.I.
New Brunswick's junior girls team was selected Thursday.
Champion Stephanie Chubb of Riverside heads the team.
